What’s different about Solution Focused Hypnotherapy?

How is Solution Focused Hypnotherapy Different?

Solution focused hypnotherapy is different to other types of traditional hypnotherapy. It is a more modern approach combining solution focused brief therapy, elements of NLP, and neuroscience, with hypnosis. Traditional methods were more about the hypnotherapist ‘doing something to you’, but these days, we work with clients in a more collaborative way.

How does it work?

If you are seeing a Solution Focused Hypnotherapist you will find they all work in the same way as each other. You will be offered an initial consultation. This includes information gathering and an explanation of how the brain works to create anxiety, anger and depression and what we can do about it. Already, with this information, we are giving the client autonomy, to feel more in control. You will be given a relaxation audio to start listening to each night before you start your first session.

You will be asked some open questions during sessions to help you identify your preferred future. Your outcomes can be measured so you can see your progress along the way.  As a result, this is confidence inspiring for the client, and for the new therapist ! Of course, life happens, and we may see dips in progress that are situational. However that’s OK because we can easily get back on track. It’s lasting change that we are aiming for, not just for this week or month, but for years to come.

Who Can it Help?

Solution focused hypnotherapy can help with a whole range of issues. From anxiety and stress, through to mild to moderate depression, phobias, OCD, PTSD, weight management, sports performance, smoking cessation, and much more !

If you could help just one person feel better, wouldn’t that feel great? That’s what our solution focused hypnotherapy graduates are experiencing every day. It is such a positive therapy, that it’s energising for the therapist too.
